Tahitian-style overwater bungalows have been a huge hit in St. Lucia, Jamaica and on Mexico’s Caribbean coast. Now, these ultra-romantic accommodations are available in Antigua at the newly opened all-inclusive Royalton Antigua Resort & Spa.
Called Chairman Overwater Bungalows, each unit offers direct access to the water and has perks such as an infinity plunge pool, an overwater hammock, a large soaking tub, a private deck and a glass floor.
“Three out of the six overwater bungalows are currently ready and welcoming guests,” said Daniel Diaz, executive vice president of hotels and resorts for Blue Diamond Resorts (Royalton Antigua’s parent company). “The final three bungalows will become available throughout the next few months.”
In addition to in-suite luxuries, a stay in one of the bungalows includes a personal butler, private fitness and yoga classes, a sunset mixology service, laundry service, a golf cart shuttle and more.
“When we were looking for new destinations to expand the Royalton brand, we decided on Antigua for multiple reasons,” Diaz said. “Not only is it a beautiful island known for its 365 beaches, but it is also a luxury destination that aligns with our brand. With the airport being only 30 minutes away from Royalton Antigua, we can accommodate guests from all over the world within a very competitive market, as well as bring a high level of luxury for an affordable price.”
Activities for all guests at the resort include Royalton Fit classes, mixology courses, a spa, an on-site casino and dance lessons. Kids can convene at the Clubhouse Kids Club and at the Seaside Summer Camp, where they can participate in activities showcasing the culture and history of Antigua.
Time is of the essence for clients with their hearts set on nabbing one of the overwater bungalows.
“Booking all depends on the time of the season, and we always encourage our agents to book as soon as possible to ensure availability, as we only have six Chairman Overwater Bungalows,” said Todd Kirlik, director of global relationships for Blue Diamond Resorts. “With the increased interest we’ve received over the past few months, we expect the bungalows to be at capacity for the winter months.”
Blue Diamond Resorts offers competitive rates year-round for agents.
“Fam trips can be expected shortly as we are working with our stakeholders to help plan and execute,” Kirlik said.
