One of the most anticipated developments in the Caribbean is Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort’s upcoming plans to build 16 over-the-water suites, similar to those which travelers find in the South Pacific. Sandals Resorts is preparing to begin construction on the 16 suites in the fall of 2012. These suites, which will be the first-of-their-kind in the Caribbean, are set to begin welcoming guests in 2013. The suites, which will be perched on a deck hovering over the sea, will contain see-through glass floors, over-the-water hammocks, outdoor showers and lights in the surrounding water, in order to offer prime night viewing of sea life. These exclusive suites will also include butler service.
