The new Trident, Bandra Kurla, Mumbai hotel opened in the heart of Mumbai’s financial and commercial district on Dec. 1, with an official grand opening slated for Dec. 20. This new hotel, part of The Oberoi Group, is ideally situated only 20 minutes from the airport and is the only hotel to be located in the Bandra Kurla Complex.

The new property, targeted at both leisure and business travelers, features 436 guest suites, a full-service spa, a fitness center, a swimming pool and meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 500 people. During the first two days of its soft opening on Dec. 1 and 2, the hotel saw occupancy rates of 70 and 80 percent, respectively.

The hotel also offers multiple restaurant choices with a wide selection of options including Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Asian and Western cuisines. A distinctive Italian option, Botticino, offers the finest wines along with a grappa display and a taste of Italy. The restaurant Mya serves traditional and regional cuisine offering delicacies from India’s Bengal, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Kashmir styles of cooking.

The hotel’s fitness center includes cardiovascular equipment, each furnished with a private television screen and headphones. A 105-foot-long swimming pool is also maintained with waterfalls on either side.

The diverse range of treatments offered by trained therapists at the Trident spa includes traditional Indian ayurvedic massages, aromatherapy and Western techniques.

This Trident hotel is also home to boutique, Sandouk. Precious jewelry, unique traditional ornaments, neckpieces, bracelets, bangles, earrings and rings are handcrafted and available for guests to purchase. Sandouk also provides unique saris, apparel designed exclusively and home linen created by top Indian designers. Leather merchandise, delicate handbags, pashmina shawls and silk are also available.

For the holiday season, the Trident, Bandra Kurla, Mumbai, is offering accommodation for two nights, based on double occupancy, an additional room for two children up to 12 years and a Trident breakfast for two on both days for about $345. The offer is valid through April 15.
