The future looks bright for W Hotels as it plans to open the W Bangkok, its first city-center hotel in Southeast Asia in 2010. Top executives recently held an official ground-breaking at the construction site.
The new, 400-room W Bangkok will form a major part of Golden Land’s Sathorn Square mixed-use development, which is centered on the historic, landmark Russian Embassy complex. Last October, Starwood entered into a management agreement with North Sathorn Hotel Company to develop the new property. W Hotels hopes the property will host both business and leisure travelers. The Sathorn Square development will also include nearly 230,000 square-feet office tower with boutiques and shops.

The W Bangkok will offer 30,000 square-feet of meeting space, a W Living Room Bar, a Sweat Fitness Center and the hotel’s signature W Whatever/Whenever 24/7 concierge service.
