Been There, Do This: Dining at Sunset Da Mona Lisa in Los Cabos

Apr 05, 2016

Visitors know without a doubt they are in Los Cabos when they see the iconic rock formation called El Arco. Perhaps there is no better spot to see the arch __ or the entire bay of Cabo San Lucas __ than from Sunset Da Mona Lisa restaurant.

Located next to The Cape, A Thompson Hotel, Sunset Da Mona Lisa is an open-air, fine-dining restaurant built on the side of a cliff. With amazing ocean views, it's reminiscent of places one might find on Italy's Amalfi Coast or on a Greek isle in the Mediterranean. The menu is Italian seafood, prepared by chef Paolo della Corte, who hails from Napoli, Italy. Dishes include Paccheri Polipo (a traditional Napolitano pasta, served with octopus and a puttanesca sauce); Ravioli alla Genovese (handmade stuffed ravioli with confit lamb, ricotta cheese and onion sauce); and Filetto di Manzo alla Pietra Lavica (Sonoran tenderloin cooked tableside on a heated lava rock).

For guests who want something a little more casual, the restaurant also offers Sunset Point, a wine and pizza lounge. This indoor venue features incredible ocean views, along with gourmet pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven.

Even though the dining scene in Los Cabos has exploded in recent years, Sunset Da Mona Lisa is a can't-miss option __ especially just as the sun dips into the ocean.
