Iberia will begin flying between Los Angeles and Madrid, Spain, on March 28. The airline will operate three weekly nonstop flights from Los Angeles on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays with an additional flight on Fridays from July to September.
The flights will depart from Los Angeles at 5:55 p.m. and arrive in Madrid at 2:15 p.m. the following day. From Madrid, passengers can continue onward to 36 other destinations in Spain, 38 cities in Europe, 10 destinations in Africa and to Tel Aviv, Israel.
Return flights will depart from the Spanish capital at 12:35 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 4:15 p.m. To better serve the Western U.S., Iberia will also offer connecting flights to/from Fresno, Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Medford, Calif., as well as Honolulu under a code share agreement with American Airlines to/from Los Angeles.
Iberia will fly a 254-seat Airbus A340/300 plane with a 36-seat Business Plus section. To celebrate its new route, the airline launched an airfare offer for $769 from Los Angeles to Madrid.
