Riviera Travel Rebrands, Pays Agent Commissions Before Travel

Riviera River Cruises has rebranded as Riviera Travel, aligning its U.S. operations with its global identity as it enters wave season 2025. The move brings the company's river cruise segment under the same umbrella as its other travel entities after 40 years in business.

The Fort Lauderdale-based luxury tour operator announced several agent-focused initiatives alongside the rebrand. Travel advisors can now bundle air, transfers and pre- or post-cruise hotel stays with river cruise bookings in a single transaction. The company has also accelerated its commission payment schedule, with agents now receiving payouts two weeks before client departures instead of after sailing.

New agent incentives include $50 vouchers for seven-night bookings and $100 vouchers for sailings of 10 nights or longer. The company says all components of its new bundled packages will be fully commissionable.

Marilyn Conroy, executive vice president of marketing and sales, says the changes reflect the company's push to capture more U.S. market share while making it easier for agents to sell European river cruises.

Product updates for 2025 include combination cruises lasting up to 29 days and new themed itineraries focused on topics like Douro Valley gastronomy and Danube art history. The line plans to roll out an enhanced drinks package and destination-inspired amenities throughout the year.
