In 2003, Globus will debut its Open Doors packages, which allow
travelers to choose from eight North American experiences that are
not available to those traveling on their own or from other tour
operators.
“We took the product we had in North America and super-charged
it,” said Steve Born, director of marketing for Globus &
Cosmos.
Globus is offering agents a Booking for Dollars incentive,
whereby every time agents book and put a deposit on a 2003 Globus
North America vacation through Dec. 31, they receive $50 in
addition to commission earned. Following are some Open Doors
packages available in 2003:
Great Resorts of the Canadian Rockies is a
10-day excursion visiting Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper aboard the
Rocky Mountaineer. The trip includes entertainment by one of
Western Canada’s most popular cowboy poets, Doris Daley; a visit to
Heritage Park, a historical village; a guided tour of Canada
Olympic Park (site of the 1988 Winter Olympics); frontier dining at
Two River Junction; and accommodations at Banff Springs Hotel. The
package is priced from $2,799.
The 12-day Pacific Coast Adventure visits San
Francisco, Mount St. Helens, Puget Sound and the Oregon Coast. The
trip features a stay at San Francisco’s historic Westin St.
Francis, a private cruise of Lake Union and Lake Washington in
Seattle, volunteering as deckhands aboard a fishing vessel and
lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf. The Pacific Coast package is priced
from $2,399.
Clients can explore the Golden State with California Coast
Vacation, which visits Monterey, Carmel, Beverly Hills and San
Diego. The nine-day itinerary includes accommodations at Century
Plaza Hotel & Spa in Los Angeles, an exclusive glimpse of
acting classes at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting, a private
tour of the Queen Mary led by one of the ship’s officers, free time
in San Diego and dinner at Cannery Row restaurant. The package is
priced from $1,899.
The Routes of the West tour is an 11-day journey through
Colorado and New Mexico. The trip includes a ride through San Juan
National Forest aboard the Durango-Silverton train, accommodations
at the Red Cliffs Adventure Lodge in Moab, Colo., a visit to the
Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, N.M., and lunch at
Rancho de Chimayo. The package is priced from $1,949.
