Insight Vacations Heads to Portugal

Oct 22, 2012

Insight Vacations has announced its 2013 itineraries and among its new offerings is the Highlights of Portugal tour.

“People have been asking for a Portugal-only tour and this year we have added it,” said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Insight Vacations. “This itinerary is selling like crazy.”

The 10-day itinerary travels from Porto to Lisbon and includes the Convent of Christ in Tomar as well as the Manueline Window and follow the story of the Knights Templar. In Porto, guests will travel along the Douro River and taste port wine, which takes its name from the region. A stop in Silves reveals the town’s castle and gothic cathedral. In Evora, travelers will tour with a local expert around the city walls, its Roman temple, Cathedral, Praça do Giraldo and Capela dos Ossos. The tour also stops in Fatima and Obidos and finishes in Lisbon.

Kazlauskas is encouraged by the pace of bookings.

“We are saying book early because we have an amazing early-bird special and clients can get better air prices,” said Kazlauskas, adding that tours are selling fast and another reason to book early is to get the dates clients want.

Clients who book and pay by Dec. 28 can take advantage of the early-bird special with 10 percent off of rates. Clients who have traveled with Insight before will also receive an additional discount of $198 per couple. Rates for the tour start at $1,935.

Other new programs added to Insight Vacations’ roster of European vacations this year include the 10-day Gaelic Treasures of Ireland, the nine-day Celtic Legends in Scotland tour and a new Spain itinerary, Spanish Gold.
