Island Routes 'Lives Funner'

Feb 12, 2013

Last month, Island Routes Caribbean Adventures launched a new campaign to the travel trade at the Caribbean Travel Marketplace in the Bahamas.

Island Routes’ new brand philosophy is “Live Funner.” The new tagline is meant to inspire tour participants to get off the grid, experience the warmth and vibrancy of the locals and dive into the culture, beauty and natural resources that define the Caribbean.

“We bring a real commitment to creating opportunity and sharing the joy and excitement of our Caribbean home. By the end of the adventure, our guests will feel like one of us,” said David L. Shields, general manager of Island Routes Caribbean Adventures. “The goal is to bring ‘Live Funner’ to life by recommitting to our core values of service, sustainability and authenticity through high-energy campaigns, promotions and social media to promote the new brand philosophy to key markets.”

Island Routes is also now offering Wi-Fi access as part of its newly developed Luxury Transfer Service Package. With this experience, clients have the option of fast-tracked entry through security and immigration upon their arrival in Jamaica. They transfer from the airport in either a fully catered Audi A6 or VW Transporter, complete with DVD players and a selection of the latest movies. Travelers will also have a personalized chauffer service and access to a VIP lounge upon departure.

“We’re the first in the Caribbean to have this service,” said Shields.

Island Routes provides a variety of Caribbean experiences in seven destinations, including Antigua, Exuma, The Bahamas, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Saint Lucia and the Turks & Caicos Islands.

Shields pointed out that the company had a new tour in Jamaica, river-boarding on the Rio Bueno. The tour originates in Falmouth and includes a bracing ride over a series of white water rapids.

“We’ve noticed a trend has developed in which our catamaran excursions are being booked by wedding groups, for a reception onboard the catamaran,” noted Shields.

Island Routes also offer Kingston tours as part of its Limited Edition Routes. These are customized tours focusing on different aspects of Kingston, including the capital’s rich musical heritage.

“Next month we’ll open in Grenada, offering a variety of tours,” said David Shields. “Tours will include Belmont Estate, Concord Falls, the Grenville Nutmeg Processing Station, snorkeling the underwater museum and catamaran sails, as well as the epicurean delights of Grenada, the Spice Island.”
