Kensington Tours has created an Elite Collection of European tours that give visitors insider experiences, such as seeing the Sistine Chapel after hours, exploring Voltaire's private library or touring St. Petersburg in the company of Dostoevsky’s great grandson. Kensington Tours is based in Wilmington, Del., and specializes in custom and private guided tours to more than 90 countries worldwide.

“Each of the itineraries in Kensington’s Elite Collection features private tours led by renowned historians, museum curators, master chefs and even descendants of important European figures,” said Phil Sproul, president of Kensington Tours. “Travelers will spend nights at palaces, ancient citadels, famous vineyards, on private yachts and in the same hotels as Hemingway, Oscar Wilde, Queen Elizabeth and Hollywood greats.”

Handcrafted by Kensington’s Team of Senior European specialists, these private tours are designed for explorers seeking behind-the-scenes access, extraordinary experiences and deep cultural connections. Kensington’s Elite Collection premiers with its Europe itineraries.

The company’s 14-day Afterhours Vatican, Ferraris & Private Yacht: Italy Elite - Rome, Florence & Amalfi tour allows participants to explore the Sistine Chapel during a private afterhours tour of the Vatican. Clients will also tour the caverns of exclusive wine cellars and have the bucket list experience of driving a Ferrari. In addition, they will also cruise along the Amalfi Coast for six days on a private yacht, soar over Florence in a hot-air balloon and meet local artisans, wine connoisseurs, master chefs and museum curators as they tour Rome, Naples, Procida, Ischia, Capri, Amalfi, Positano and Tuscany. The cost is $45,185 per person.

During Kensington’s seven-day Haute Cuisine, Couture & Chateaux: France Elite - Paris & Bordeaux tour, participants immerse themselves in France’s art, fashion and gastronomy. They will tour Paris, Bordeaux and St. Emilion while overnighting at castles, royal chateaux and an age-old monastery turned wine estate. Guests will also learn to blend wines under the tutelage of an expert; enjoy a private collection at a fashion house; create their own scent at Guerlain, the world’s oldest perfumery; and make macaroons at Lenotre. The tour includes historian-guided tours, personal shoppers, chauffeured Rolls Royce and Michelin restaurants. The tour is priced from $18,750 per person.

The nine-day Jewels of The Crown: Russia Elite - Moscow & St. Petersburg itinerary includes a high-style experience of Moscow and St. Petersburg with private guide, chauffeur, caviar and champagne. Highlights include cocktails at St. Peter and St. Paul’s Fortress, a private choral performance at St. Nicolas, a backstage tour of the Bolshoi Theatre, special access to Voltaire’s library and a tour led by Dostoevsky’s great grandson. This itinerary is priced from $15,487 per person.
