South America: Aqua Expeditions is hosting Butterfield & Robinson’s eco-friendly Destinations at Risk trip in the Peruvian Amazon aboard the mv Aqua in February.
Europe: Next July and August, Austin-Lehman Adventures is hosting a Holland-Bike Paths, Windmills & Pancakes Family Biking Adventure.
Middle East: Picasso Travel is offering an Israel Sampler package, which includes a Jerusalem city tour for $709 per person, based on double occupancy, until Feb. 28.
Asia: From March to November, Ritz Tours is offering a 15-day Golden Yangtze Discovery package with stays in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai, along with an excursion on the Yangtze River.
Gutsy Women Travel Aids Single Travelers
Gutsy Women Travel added a Guaranteed Share Program as a savings option for its single travelers. Through the new program, the tour operator will guarantee a roommate match for women who book any of their 2009 tours at least 90 days or more prior to departure date. If a suitable roommate match is not found, the single supplement charge of at least $60 per night will be waived and private accommodations will be provided throughout the trip.
"We are finding that more and more ladies are taking our trips on their own and that 25 percent of them are looking to share accommodations," said April M. Merenda, Gutsy Women Travel president and co-founder. "Whether they are married but have husbands who don’t share the same travel interests, are teachers on a set vacation schedule who cannot find a friend to join them at the same time, or looking for an exotic solo adventure, Gutsy Women Travel wanted to offer a more affordable option for ladies traveling alone."
