Central America
Tara Tours Inc. has released a new tour to Panama with Copa Airlines, including direct flights from Miami, Washington D.C., New York, Los Angeles and Orlando, Fla., from $691.

South America
Southern Explorations, a tour company that specializes in ecotours to Latin America, is offering 11 brand-new tours to Brazil that feature surfing, yoga and multi-sport adventures.

Africa
Abercrombie & Kent’s redesigned Africa safari brochure for 2011 features 14 small group escorted journeys, eight private itineraries and an expanded portfolio of 16 extensions that explore east, west and southern Africa, with prices starting from $5,440.

Europe
Save up to 10 percent when booking eight to 12 months in advance with CIE Tours International’s escorted coach tours through Scotland, England and Wales, offered through Sept. 30, 2011.

Asia
For every booking with Baobab Expeditions’ Orangutan and Turtle Adventures in Borneo, offered Nov. 9, 2010 and April 3 and Nov. 9, 2011, priced from $3,321 per person, the tour operator will make a donation to the Orangutan Appeal, an organization devoted to protecting orangutans.

Globus Holds Fifth Annual Home-Based Agent Symposium
Globus Family of Brands is hosting its fifth annual Home-Based Agent Symposium in the metropolitan areas of Tampa, Fla. (Oct. 19); Chicago (Oct. 21); Hartford, Conn. (Oct. 26); and Sacramento, Calif. (Oct. 28). Attendees will be able to attend a number of seminars and meet with representatives from British Columbia, Quebec, Hong Kong, Holland America Line, Israel, Jordan, Mexico, Peru and more.
“We’re asking the home-based agent community to invest in a day with us so we can not only talk to them about products available for their clients but can introduce them to, and in some cases, reinforce the skills needed to succeed in selling travel in today’s market,” said Kathleen Kavanagh, manager of the Home-Based Channel for Globus (www.globusathome.com/2010symposium)

Cox & Kings Extends Hours
Cox & Kings is extending its hours of operation from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pacific to better service agents in the West Coast market.
“Travel agents are Cox & Kings’ primary sales force in the marketplace, and our goal this year is to work more effectively with West Coast travel agencies,” said Thomas Stanley, centre head and chief operating officer of Cox & Kings. (www.coxandkingsusa.com)

Collette Goes 3 for $300
Collette Vacations is launching its 3 for $300 campaign in which individual agents can earn $300 for every three bookings made between Sept. 1 through Dec. 31 for travel from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, 2011, on all
Collette Vacations tours, including partner brands.
