Fireworks lit the sky on Jan. 10 as Cunard Line celebrated its 2015 World Voyage departures of the Queen Mary 2 and sister ship Queen Elizabeth in Southampton, England. The evening also marked the start of the cruise line’s 175th anniversary, which will feature a lineup of live events, commemorative sailings and celebrity speakers throughout the year.
One such event will gather the Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria ships in their home port of Southampton for a sailaway in May. Also in May, the fleet will perform a series of choreographed maneuvers in Liverpool. Other events will take place through the end of 2015.
“2015 is going to be an amazing year for Cunard,” said Richard Meadows, president of Cunard Line for North America. “We want everyone across the globe to be able to share in these historic celebrations.”
