Carnival Corporation & plc and its subsidiary Costa Crociere have announced that Pier Luigi Foschi will retire as CEO, effective July 1.
Foschi will continue to serve on Carnival’s board of directors as well as be Costa’s chairman and managing director.
Replacing Foschi as CEO is Michael Thamm who is currently the president of AIDA Cruises, based in Germany.
“We wish to thank Pier for his many years of dedicated service,” said Micky Arison, Carnival Corporation & plc’s chairman and CEO. “At the same time, Michael has done a superb job managing AIDA Cruises, and we have every confidence that Michael will continue these efforts at the helm of Costa.”
