Last month, more than 1,600 members of the travel industry gathered for the 20th annual PhoCusWright Conference, held at the The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fla. The travel technology conference showcased some of the industry’s hottest new companies — including CheckMate, an app that allows clients to check into their hotels while in transit, and Globa.li, a GDS dedicated to boutique travel — and featured roundtable discussions and interviews with established companies, including Delta Air Lines, Google Travel, the Wyndham Hotel Group and The Hertz Corporation.
In addition to workshops and networking opportunities for all sectors of the travel industry, PhoCusWright facilitated programing specifically for young leaders under the age of 35. The Young Leaders Summit has been promoting executive management development among rising stars in travel, tourism and hospitality for four consecutive years.
Next year’s conference will be held Nov. 11-13 at the JW Marriott at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, Calif. PhoCusWright is owned by Northstar Travel Media, the parent company of TravelAge West and Travel Weekly.
