The government of Puerto Rico has appointed Luis G. Rivera-Marin, Esq. to lead the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC) as its new executive director. The island’s governor, Luis Fortuno, selected Rivera-Marin and the position was confirmed at public hearings in late March.
Rivera-Marin will be at the helm of a public corporation with over 500 employees and a budget of $100 million. Since Jan. 2009, Rivera-Marin served as secretary of the department of consumer affairs. His prior experience also includes tenures as attorney and notary at renowned law firms, where he represented diverse financial, commercial and tourism industry institutions, as well as work in the private sector as a manager at Procter & Gamble.
