What
G Adventures and its nonprofit partner Planeterra have debuted five new projects that focus on empowering women and their communities. The experiences are built into itineraries and are part of the Project 100 initiative — a commitment to have 100 Planeterra projects within G Adventures tours in 2020.

Why It Matters
According to G Adventures, more than 2,800 women will be positively impacted by these projects annually. Advising clients to use their travels to support local communities will show that you’re not just thoughtful about their needs, but also of the people and places that travel impacts.

Fast Facts
- Additional experiences include visiting a homeless shelter in Greece and helping pick up plastic in the Maldives.

- The initiatives in Project 100 has already reached 85.

- Each year, more than 100,000 travelers visit Planeterra projects impacting the lives of more than 60,000 local people.

- More information on the projects can be found at www.gadventures.com/about-us/responsible-travel.

What They Are Saying
“Supporting the local communities we visit is at the forefront of everything we do, and these new projects continue our mission of turning travel into impact,” said Jamie Sweeting, president of Planeterra Foundation and vice president of responsible travel for G Adventures. “I’m proud projects like these put the spotlight on the women in these communities and all the amazing work they’re doing.”
