Hilton Worldwide recently announced that it will add its first European locations under the Curio - A Collection by Hilton brand. The new Curio properties will be set in two historic hotels — Reichshof Hamburg in Germany and Rumeli Han Istanbul in Turkey. Both are currently under-going major renovations and will open in 2015 and 2017, respectively.
Reichshof Hamburg was built in 1910 and boasts an art deco facade and a prime location across the street from Hamburg Central Station. More than $30 million will go into improving the site. When it opens late this year, it will offer 280 guestrooms and suites, plus meeting rooms and a grand ballroom.
Rumeli Han Istanbul, set in the city’s Beyoglu district and a short walk from Taksim Square and Galata Tower, will open in 2017 with 173 rooms and a rooftop bar with skyline views.
