The King David Jerusalem Hotel is the company’s premier
property. Located in the heart of the city, overlooking the ancient
walls of the Old City, the King David is the foremost gathering
place in Israel. It is where people who make history rub shoulders
with the people who come to see it. The hotel is also the
traditional host to diplomats and experienced travelers. It offers
a unique combination of modern facilities and traditional
atmosphere.

To commemorate the King David’s 75th anniversary, an exhibition has
been mounted in the public areas of the hotel charting its colorful
history, complete with architectural explanations, historical facts
and artifacts from throughout the years.
The exhibition is divided into four main subjects and includes
the visitor’s guest book from 1931-1990; some serving utensils used
in the hotel’s early years; an antique “Zenith” telephone used in
the 1940s and a night basin that was utilized in the guestrooms
until the 1950s.
The four sections of the exhibit include the following:
- King David as a territorial landmark: A variety
of photos taken from the Jewish archives and documentation
surrounding the days of the British mandate.
- King David as a milestone for peace: Video clips
and documentation of talks surrounding peace agreements and
governmental events.
- King David as an architecture and design icon:
The exhibition will display photos of the day the hotel was opened
depicting the special architectural facets of the rooms, halls and
restaurants, as well as the Jerusalem landscape from windows and
balconies.
- King David’s VIPs: A series of photos of kings,
queens, presidents, politicians, film stars and dignitaries from
all over the world who have passed through this historic hotel.
There will also be a display of celebrity autographs honoring the
King David over the past 75 years so that visitors can “walk
through history” from one side of the hotel to the other.
The King David Jerusalem Hotel has 237 rooms, including 32
special rooms and suites, one Presidential and one Royal Suite.
