Egypt Travel Packages

Feb 06, 2011
Leading Egypt tour operators have created a winning formula by combining top-notch hotels and luxury river cruise vessels with some of the oldest and most venerated monuments on Earth, including the Great Pyramids, the Temple of Karnak and Abu Simbel. Whether basking in the sun along the Red Sea, floating down the Nile River or gaping in awe at the wonders of civilizations past, travelers to Egypt will have plenty to write home about.

History and the Red Sea
Yaílla Tours USA's nine-day Pyramids, Sun and the Red Sea tour takes travelers to many of the country's most popular historical sites and also includes a five-day stay along the Red Sea in Sharm El Sheikh.

The tour begins in Cairo with a visit to the Dahshur and Sakkara pyramids, the Great Pyramid, the Great Sphinx and the Solar Boat museum.

On day three, clients fly to Sharm El Sheikh, where they can snorkel in the warm waters of the Red Sea, home to more than 1,000 species of tropical fish.

Lastly, travelers fly back to Cairo to visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, Medieval Cairo and the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. Based on double occupancy, pricing begins at $1,965 from April 16 to May 2 and $1,575 from May 3 to Sept. 30. www.yallatours.com

Luxury on the Nile
Abercrombie & Kent is offering a 14-day Adventures on the Nile by Private Yacht tour. During this family-friendly tour, a personal Egyptologist will navigate visitors through the rock temples of Abu Simbel, the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, the Giza Plateau and the pharaonic tombs in the Valley of the Kings. In addition, travelers will sail on a private yacht down the Nile River visiting famous sites such as the Temple of Karnak and the Aswan High Dam.

The trip is capped off in Cairo with  dinner in an authentic Egyptian home. Dates and pricing are available upon request. www.abercrombiekent.com

Ancient Wonders

Travelers arrive in Cairo and stay at the historic Mena House Oberoi with a view of the Great Pyramid. On the second day, visitors experience the Pyramids of Giza; the Great Sphinx; the first capital, Memphis; and one of the oldest known manmade stone structures, King Zoser's Step Pyramid. Among the other sites travelers will see are the temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari, the famous unfinished Obelisk and a sound and light show at the Temple of Karnak.
