In a bold bid to raise awareness for the destination, the Taiwan
Tourism Bureau is running a Discover Taiwan contest through Sept.
30, awarding 10 free trips (each for two people) to Taiwan.
Contestants can register as members on the Taiwan Web site,
www.go2taiwan.net and answer five questions about Taiwan. (The
correct answers are actually given on the Web site) to become
eligible to win a seven-day/six-night trip for two that includes
roundtrip economy-class flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco,
Seattle, Newark or Vancouver airports to Taipei.
The free trips include all accommodations in five-star hotels,
meals and a comprehensive tour of the island.
Winners’ names will be drawn Oct. 14, with the winning names
published on the Web site from Oct. 15 to Nov. 15. Notification
will also be sent to the winners by e-mail and mail.
Participants must be at least 18 years old, resident in the U.S.
or Canada and must be U.S. or Canadian passport holders. Only one
entry is allowed per registered member.
The non-transferable free trips are scheduled for December;
exact dates will be provided at the end of October. Costs for
domestic travel to the gateway airports are not included.
