Tour operator Pan Pacific Journeys recently introduced a Premium Value (lower-priced) version of its successful Grand Luxe Cultural Holiday tour, called China: An Educational Holiday.

The 13-day tour, which is led by a bilingual tour manager, focuses on introducing clients to topics that range from Chinese art, history, culture and geography to language, literature and contemporary life. Destinations on the trip include visits to Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Yangshuo and Shanghai.
Special excursions include the opportunity to handle national treasures in the underground vaults of Xian’s Shaanxi Provincial Museum and scenic gondola ride to a less-visited area of the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall.
Tour prices begin at $1,898 per person, based on double occupancy, with a minimum of six persons per tour. Trans-Pacific air is available from $1,000 per person and a four-day Hong Kong extension is also available from $909 per person.
