The Holiday Inn Resort Phuket has recently undergone a series of
multi-million-dollar refurbishments including upgrades to all 265
of the resort’s main wing rooms to modern superior rooms or deluxe
sea view rooms and a total makeover of the hotel’s public areas
including pool, restaurants and bars.
Opened in 1987 as the first international resort in Patong
beach, the hotel is 15 minutes from Phuket town and now also boasts
a new kids pools and kidsclubs.
“The extensive renovation and upgrading program at Holiday Inn
Resort Phuket demonstrates our deep commitment to providing genuine
Thai hospitality and service from the heart, combined with the
international standards of the world’s most recognized hotel
brand,” said Wolfgang Meusburger, the hotel’s general manager.
The 265 rooms in the main wing have been redesigned with modern
furnishings, new bathrooms and “up-to-the-minute” conveniences. In
addition 11 family or kidssuites rooms have been added.
Family and kidssuites rooms are “pirate” themed, with children
sleeping in bunk or boat-shaped beds complete with their own
television and Sony Playstations. Meanwhile, 16 deluxe sea-view
rooms offer large balconies and open bathroom concepts, and are
finished in a contemporary décor, with flat-screen TVs and free
mini-bars.
A penthouse suite is being added to the top floor of the resort,
offering a further dimension of luxury with a large balcony
offering views across Patong and out to sea.
In the main wing the restaurants have undergone a total
renovation. Seabreeze Cafe, offers live cooking theme buffets on a
nightly basis and overlooks the main pool. Terrazzo Ristorante
& Bar, an all-Italian restaurant with alfresco and indoor
seating, provides a beach view and a bar to watch the Patong Beach
scene. Sam’s, a modern steak house, also offers a bar with its open
water court seating.
