A new St. Regis hotel will open in the southwest region of China this summer, becoming the 32nd St. Regis to open worldwide. The St. Regis Chengdu, located in the capital city of the Sichuan province — also known as “The Country of Heaven” — will open in the city’s business district near Tianfu Square and the high-end retail shopping area Chun Xi Road. Designed to fuse West and East, classic and modern, the hotel aesthetically balances the traditional St. Regis 1920’s Art Deco architectural style with the traditional local Szechuan culture. The hotel will offer 279 guestrooms and suites dispersed over 29 stories.
Chengdu was named the first City of Gastronomy in Asia by UNESCO, and the hotel reflects this by offering six restaurants and lounges. The Social, Yan Ting, Yun Fu, Decanter, Vantage XXVII and the Drawing Room each feature a distinct flavor of the city. Complimentary butler service is also accessible in all rooms.
