The Taiwan Cycling Festival offers two main events, the Taiwan KOM Challenge and the Formosa 900, along with many other smaller activities and various biking tours. From Nov. 9-17, the Formosa 900 gives participants the opportunity to take part in a scenic round-island tour. Beginning at various locations and encompassing Taipei City and Hualien City, the festival route includes many main tourist attractions and local foods.
For those wanting to experience a competitive bike race, the Taiwan KOM Challenge offers a great alternative to the Formosa 900. The competition begins on Nov. 9 at the Qixingtan seashore and ends at Wuling/Hehuan Mountain. International cyclists are invited to claim the title of “The King of the Mountain” while enjoying breathtaking scenery and well-paved roads. An awards ceremony and fireworks show will take place at CueiFong on that same evening.
