Travcoa In China

Nov 15, 2005
With a booming economy and the 2008 Summer Olympics on the horizon for Beijing, Travcoa is expanding its offering to the region next year to offer a new, 16-day Gems of Asia all-inclusive luxury tour that spirits travelers through China, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore.

Travcoa’s Beijing portion of the tour treats travelers to a visit to the famed former Imperial Palace, the treasure-filled Forbidden City, the Great Wall and Ming Tombs and a performance by the Beijing Opera. In Hong Kong, travelers stay at the five-star Island Shangri-La Hotel while enjoying a sunset cruise on Victoria Harbor on a Chinese junk.

The Thailand portion of the package includes Bangkok, a world unto itself, where visitors will tour the Grand Palace, the Golden Buddha, the Prasart Museum, as well as enjoy a private canal cruise. In northern Thailand, travelers will tour Chang Mai’s myriad temples, pagodas and enjoy an elephant-back safari. Finally, in Singapore, the Raffles Hotel is the backdrop for exploring the island nation.

Travcoa’s new Gems of Asia is priced from $7,795 per person, including all meals, accommodations, deluxe transportation, guides and gratuities. Departures are scheduled for April 20-May 5 and Oct. 5-20.

The luxury tour operator also is continuing its Escorted Journeys, including its 16-day Along the Yangtze River cruise aboard the river’s newest cruise ship - the 348-foot, 154-cabin Victoria Anna, scheduled to launch in April. Beyond the river, the tour also offers visits to Beijing, Xian, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Along the Yangtze River is priced from $6,195 per person, including all meals, accommodations, regional ground transportation, guides and gratuities. Seven separate departures are scheduled for April, May, July, September and October.

From energetic Tokyo to traditional Kyoto, Beijing to ancient Xian, the Enticing Japan & China 14-day Escorted Journey reveals everything from the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo and picturesque Kyoto to Beijing’s Tiananmen Square and a gondola glide along the Great Wall. The journey rounds out in Shanghai, with temples, art museums, gardens, and shopping. The tour is priced from $8,495 per person, including all meals, accommodations, deluxe transportation, guides and gratuities. Departures are scheduled for April 2-15, June 25-July 8, and Oct. 15-28.

Travcoa’s 22-day Escorted Journey Trade Routes of China & Central Asia unveils the ancient Silk Road through China to the Mediterranean. From its start at the Island Shangri-La hotel, the journey offers the energy of Hong Kong and Xian before heading to Dunhuang and Turpan. The package takes in China’s Kashgar and Urumqi, then heads to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, with highlights including the Museum of Kazakh Musical Instruments in Almatay, the religious centers at Kukeldash Madrassah in Tashkent, and the ancient cities of Samarkand and Bukhara. Trade Routes of China & Central Asia is priced from $11,995 per person, including all meals, accommodations, deluxe transportation, guides and gratuities. Departures are scheduled for June 29-July 20, and Aug. 24-Sept. 14.
