The Caribbean has long been a wellness tourism hotspot. To destress after a difficult lockdown, travelers will increasingly flock to the Caribbean with the intent to rest and rejuvenate. And not just in the immediate future — researchers estimate that the global wellness tourism market could see an annual growth rate of 7.2% by 2030, making it one of the fastest-growing sectors of the travel market.
In response, many resorts have been revamping their wellness offerings to accommodate the next generation of world-weary travelers. From their wellness-focused rebrands to newly added wellness activities, the following Caribbean resorts represent the new faces of health and well-being in the region.
Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club (Rendezvous Bay, Anguilla)
Formerly known as the Resort & Residences by CuisinArt, Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club will reopen under new branding and ownership in December.
In addition to a new 16,000 square-foot hydroponic farm, the resort will feature an enhanced spa and wellness center. At Sorana Spa, clients can unplug with a personalized treatment or a relaxing massage. The fitness center will be equipped with advanced machines and multipurpose spaces.

To celebrate its reopening, the resort is offering a complimentary sixth night stay for arrivals through August 2022. Plus, clients will have a resort credit in accordance to each accommodation level. Upon arrival, they will also receive a welcome amenity, a resort-exclusive gift and daily breakfast for two.
Banyan Tree Spa Mayakoba (Riviera Maya, Mexico)
Banyan Tree Spa Mayakoba, meanwhile, will offer the Wellbeing Sanctuary starting this month. This immersive program will utilize pre-sleep rituals, hand-crafted meals made from local ingredients and wellness workshops to promote holistic health.

Banyan Tree Spa’s wellness philosophy centers around Asian holistic therapies, and therapists draw on at least 350 hours of training at licensed Banyan Tree Spa academies in Thailand and Indonesia.
Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda (Miches, the Dominican Republic)
This all-inclusive resort is the first and only resort in the Miches region of the Dominican Republic. After reopening in June 2021, Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda is ready to welcome back travelers.

Out of the four boutique villages, the adults-exclusive Emerald Jungle allows guests to unwind against a serene natural backdrop, both inside and outside. The luxurious rooms are decorated with a Caribbean jungle theme that reflects the Caribbean oasis outside. Clients can kick back at the secluded Zen pool, detox at the swim-up wellness bar or connect with their bodies and minds by doing treetop yoga.
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar (Nassau, the Bahamas)
The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar is home to the Caribbean’s first and only Espa spa, an international wellness brand that promotes holistic well-being through natural skincare and aromatherapy. The spa recently added Infuz IV Nutrition Therapy, where guests can choose from six IV drips or seven vitamin shots to promote physical recovery.
Afterward, guests can unwind at Baha Bay, the resort’s 15-acre beachfront waterpark. Towering waterslides, a surf simulator and a new lazy river are just some of the activities that guests can look forward to throughout their stay. They can also take advantage of the nearby Pavilion — the largest casino in the Caribbean — and private cabanas dotted throughout the property.

To top it off, clients can unwind at a one- or two-bedroom suite at The Reserve, the hotel-within-a-hotel concept at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar that offers 24/7 butler service and a separate entrance. The luxury suites feature ocean views, poolside access and enhanced privacy, so that guests can escape and relax in comfort.
Rock House Turks and Caicos (Providenciales, Turks and Caicos)
Named one of Forbes’ top 20 luxury hotel openings for 2022, Grace Bay Resorts’ Rock House is expected to be a wellness cornerstone in Turks and Caicos. Slated to open in spring 2022, the five-star residential resort will feature a 100-foot infinity pool — the largest in the country — atop a 25-foot limestone cliff. At the base of the cliff, guests can lounge on the resort’s private beach.
