The Balearia Bahamas Express ferry recently launched its Miami/Bimini service onboard The Maverick. The service, catering to day trippers and overnight passengers alike, will kick off with three trips per week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The ferry will leave Miami at 9 a.m. and arrive in Bimini by noon. Passengers doing a one-day trip will depart Bimini at 5 p.m. and arrive back in Miami around 8 p.m. The Maverick travels at a speed of 30 knots and can carry 307 passengers. Bimini, located only 50 miles east of Miami, is known as the favorite diving and fishing destination of the Out Islands of The Bahamas.
