Curacao Reports Significant Increase in Visitors for July

The Curacao Tourist Board has announced a notable increase in stayover arrivals for July 2024. The island welcomed a total of 58,951 visitors, marking a 16% increase compared to the same month in the previous year.

Visitors from the U.S. numbered 13,757, reflecting a 10% increase from 12,457 in July 2023. Of these, 70% opted for resort hotels and 30% chose other lodging options. U.S. visitors booked an average stay of 6.2 nights.

The destination also reported record-breaking arrivals from two key markets: the Netherlands and Brazil. The Dutch market recorded 24,569 visitors, up 27% from 19,377 in July 2023. This figure represents the second highest monthly total for Dutch visitors, following December 2021. The majority of Dutch visitors, 57%, chose non-resort accommodations, while 43% stayed at resorts. Dutch visitors stayed an average of 13.7 nights.

The number of Brazilian visitors surged by 42%, with 4,196 arrivals compared to 2,956 in July 2023. This month set a record for Brazil with over 4,000 stayover arrivals for the first time. Brazilian visitors stayed an average of 7.4 nights, with 70% choosing resort accommodations.

Looking at the first seven months of 2024, Curacao has welcomed 405,724 stayover visitors, a 25% increase compared to the same period last year.
