Following the success of its Marvel Day at Sea and Star Wars Day at Sea-themed voyages, Disney Cruise Line is set to introduce Pixar Day at Sea sailings in early 2023. Meanwhile, Adventures by Disney will sail a trio of rivers in partnership with AmaWaterways next year.

Pixar Day at Sea

Onboard the Disney Fantasy and sailing from Port Canaveral, Fla., a series of nine special weeklong departures will feature a whole day dedicated to the fantastical worlds of Pixar movies, including but not limited to “Toy Story,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “The Incredibles” and “Finding Nemo.”

Similar to previous Marvel and Star Wars sailings, the Pixar cruises will showcase character interactions throughout the day with the likes of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Bo Peep from “Toy Story;” Mike, Sulley and Boo from “Monsters, Inc.;” Joy and Sadness from “Inside Out;” Dug and Russell from “Up;” and Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and Frozone from “The Incredibles.”

Themed dining will start in the morning with Sheriff Woody, Jesse and Bullseye hosting a country breakfast energized by cowboy sing-alongs and serenades. At dinner, dishes will be inspired by California, where Pixar Animation Studios’ headquarters is located. And at Animator’s Palate, diners will enjoy time with “Finding Nemo” characters, including interactive conversations with Crush.

Entertainment in between and afterward will include a Pixar film festival and dance parties, as well as a unique theatrical retelling of “Coco,” featuring the story of Miguel and his family through live music and puppetry. The culmination of activities will later conclude with an evening deck spectacular starring the Incredibles, who will call on guests to help save the day.

Naturally, fan-favorite exclusive merchandise will also be available to purchase.

Pixar Day at Sea sailings are scheduled between January and March of 2023.

Meanwhile, Adventures by Disney will be back in 2023 with a total of 27 river cruises on the Rhine, Danube and Seine. Disney will charter AmaWaterways vessels and staff them with its own signature Adventure Guides for custom personalized attention.

Swiss, French, German and Dutch experiences on the Rhine will include toboggan runs through the black forest, thrills at an indoor winter park and navigating the Upper Middle Rhine Valley past 30 storied castles.

On the Danube, the countries of Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary will be visited along with their medieval ruins, suspended rope bridges and famed hills from  “The Sound of Music.”

Lastly, on the Seine, guests will be immersed in France’s highlights, encompassing everything from Monet’s House and Gardens to Paris.

The “City of Lights” is also where clients can extend trips with a two-night, pre-cruise Paris Escape featuring dinner in the Eiffel Tower; a private culinary walking tour; and a visit to the Louvre Museum with a local expert, as well as an art detective activity for Junior Adventurers.

While Adventures by Disney river cruises are generally tailored to the whole family, the brand will also offer select sailings just for adults, such as Food and Wine sailings on the Rhine and Oktoberfest itineraries on the Danube. Family-friendly themed departures include Christmas Market cruises, as well.
