The globalization of CLIA was apparent in the mix of cruise line executives inducted into the 2014 CLIA Hall of Fame in April. While most of the honorees are based in North American, two have offices in Europe and the U.K.
New CLIA Hall of Fame honorees include:
Howard Frank, Outstanding Cruise Line Executive. Frank is former vice chairman of the board and CEO of Carnival Corporation and Carnival plc; chairman of the board for Costa Crociere S.p.A, a unit of Carnival; and chairman of the CLIA Board of Directors.
Uf Tukel and Don Walker, Outstanding Cruise Retailers. Tuken and Walker are co-presidents and founders of multi-branded WMPH Vacations in Delray Beach, Fla.
Brad and Jeff Tolkin, Cruise Sales Innovators. Brad and Jeff Tolkin are co-chairmen and CEO, respectively, of World Travel Holdings, with offices on the East Coast and in the U.K.
Honorees are selected based on open nominations from CLIA's membership, followed by a review by the CLIA Trade Relations Committee.
