Princess Cruises’ next new ship will set sail from Rome when she
debuts in April 2007. The 113,000-ton Emerald Princess is currently
under construction at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard and will be the
first Princess ship to enter service from Rome’s seaport of
Civitavecchia>.
Emerald Princess’ first cruise on April 11, 2007, is a 12-day
Greek Isles itinerary that will call in Naples/Capri, Santorini,
Rhodes, Kusadasi (for Ephesus), Mykonos, Athens (Piraeus),
Katakolon (for Olympia), Corfu and Dubrovnik. Emerald Princess will
then offer a series of Greek Isles and Grand Mediterranean cruises
before crossing the Atlantic to Ft. Lauderdale Fla., in
October.
The new vessel will include many of the new design elements and
amenities debuting aboard the upcoming (June 2006) Crown Princess,
including a new piazza-style atrium, new casual dining venues and
expansion of some favorite shipboard areas.
Emerald Princess will also offer the many features that define
the Princess experience, including the Movies Under the Stars
poolside movie screen, multiple dining and entertainment options,
Personal Choice Dining featuring traditional or anytime seating, a
variety of alternative restaurants, a relaxing Asian-style Lotus
Spa with fitness center, an extensive children and teen’s center, a
wedding chapel and nearly 900 staterooms with private
balconies.
