Teaming up with Las Vegas resorts looks to be a good bet for cruise lines, as more brands are offering shared benefit programs. The latest to do so? MSC Cruises.
Here’s what to know about the new partnership, plus other lines that have made similar moves recently.
MSC Cruises and Wynn Las Vegas
MSC Cruises has partnered with Wynn Las Vegas and is now the exclusive benefit partner for Wynn Rewards, the company’s tiered loyalty program. This means that Wynn Rewards members have access to annual cruise benefits based on their status.
“This partnership with Wynn Las Vegas creates a natural extension of two brands known for exceptional hospitality, sophistication and premium guest experiences,” said Elisa Mattsson-Shen, senior vice president of global casino at MSC Cruises. “As MSC Cruises continues to expand in North America, collaborations like this allow us to connect with discerning travelers in meaningful ways. We’re proud to welcome Wynn Rewards members aboard and introduce them to our unique blend of European style and American comfort — including the elevated luxury of the MSC Yacht Club.”
Specifically, Wynn members can enjoy everything from preferred pricing and complimentary cabins to onboard casino incentives. Those in the highest tier will also receive access to the line’s signature MSC Yacht Club, its ship-within-a-ship complex. Members may further qualify for invite-only cruise giveaways throughout the year.
MSC Cruises considers the collaboration a great opportunity to galvanize its exposure with North American clients as the line expands its presence from Florida to Alaska later this year.
MGM Resorts and Hard Rock International Cruise Partnerships
Starting last year, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean benefits were enhanced in partnership with MGM Resorts (extending to Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, as well as additional properties across the country). Through both cruise brands, MGM Rewards Platinum, Noir and Gold members who redeem their Annual Cruise Benefit receive upgraded cabin categories, a wider variety of itineraries and extended vacation options.
“We are elevating our rewards program and creating more ways than ever to earn and enjoy benefits across the world and at sea,” said Anil Mansukhani, vice president of loyalty marketing for MGM Resorts. “MGM Rewards' next evolution of enhancements unlocks new benefits for members at every tier. We listened to feedback from our members and wanted to recognize and reward guests’ advancements throughout every level which is our central focus in delivering a best-in-class loyalty experience.”
In addition, every MGM Rewards member is eligible for an Onboard FreePlay benefit based on their tier status when sailing a Royal Caribbean or Celebrity cruise booked through an MGM Rewards loyalty offer, certificate offer or group cruise.
While these are the latest to make headlines, loyalty partnerships also extend to Royal Caribbean and Celebrity’s collaboration with Hard Rock International, which was announced in April 2024. The two cruise brands and the hotel chain offer discounts at Hard Rock Seminole gaming properties, along with an annual three-night complimentary stay at properties and/or a property credit during said stay.
