MSC Cruises is launching two new ships later this year — MSC Seascape and MSC World Europa, both in December 2022 — and each is slated to offer a wide variety of family offerings.
On the larger of the two ships, World Europa, MSC will tout the line’s largest ever children’s area across an expansive 8,245 square feet. Seascape, meanwhile, will offer 7,567 square feet of dedicated kids’ space.
“We have invested heavily in the entertainment offerings for our younger guests, and we know they value the latest technology, trends and experiences,” said Matteo Mancini, kids’ entertainment manager for MSC. “We have worked to introduce real innovations in both the design of the facilities, as well as the development of an incredible program of activities, all carefully planned to ensure that the differing needs of all age groups are met — from our youngest guests to teenagers. More than 350,000 young people have traveled with us over the years, and we have listened to their feedback.”

Brand-New Experiences for All Ages
New to MSC Seascape will be two LEGO rooms, one featuring LEGO DUPLO for ages 3 to 6 and another showcasing traditional LEGO bricks for ages 7 to 11, where kids can be certified as a LEGO Master Builder.
Also on Seascape will be a fresh trio of teen spaces, including a “Future” area with state-of-the-art gaming technology; a “Chill Out” alternative for simple socializing and traditional games, such as pingpong and foosball; and a “Music” space featuring a dance club with customizable playlists.
Seascape’s Break the Wall will be a high-tech game featuring a large digital wall complete with surprise tests, while Vikings will be an “edutainment” experience for families to learn about the namesake historical figures.
The newest Seaside Evo-class ship will also have the TLS Teens Late Show, which will let teenagers be in the cast of an onboard “late show” dedicated to trending topics and pop culture.
MSC World Europa, meanwhile, will feature a LEGO Celebration Room, commemorating “90 years of play” for all ages.
The ship’s other high-tech activities will encompass more than 20 gaming consoles, seven virtual reality stations and more than 50 video games to choose from. There will even be a Drone Academy 2.0 for playful drone races among 15 obstacles.
Z Active — the ship’s new sports program — will highlight football, basketball, zorb ball, pickleball and hoverboards, while 3,2,1 Knock will be a gameshow for the whole family, inspired by Asian entertainment such as K-pop and Japanese games and tests.
Both ships will also offer Beat the Music, for families to experience an interactive app-based game show dedicated to the music of multiple generations.
Returning Family Favorites
MSC’s “Cabin 12006” web series will still be front and center on both ships, with live entertainment and activities spun off from it. And for older kids and teens, the MSC Dance Crew competition — developed in collaboration with Fremantle, the production company behind “Idols,” “The X Factor" and “Got Talent” — will be hosted onboard.
Each ship will also have the reprised MSC Foundation Junior Ambassadors program for young passengers to learn about and participate in marine conservation.
