Set to debut in April 2023, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours’ upcoming new Scenic Eclipse II is well underway, as displayed in a recent time-lapse video of its construction. By the end of the month, the vessel is scheduled to float out from the MKM Yachts shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia.

The ship itself will be nearly identical to its Scenic Eclipse sister ship with guest and crew feedback contributing to changes. Among the enhancements will be an updated Senses Spa, a larger pool and outdoor area on Deck 10 and a bigger submarine capable of accommodating up to eight guests.

The luxury line’s second “Discovery Yacht” — designed to travel to warm destinations as well as polar regions — will first embark in Lisbon, Portugal, before heading to the polar regions, the Mediterranean Sea, Scotland, the Americas, and the Caribbean. By 2024, the vessel will also call on Australia, French Polynesia and Indonesia.

“The addition of Scenic Eclipse II to the fleet continues our mission to bring once-in-a-lifetime exploration to guests,” said Maggie Carbonell, vice president of marketing, the U.S., for Scenic Group.

“Our Discovery Yachts are unique in that they can handle diverse conditions, meaning they can go from the icy waters of the Arctic and Antarctic to the warmth of the Caribbean, and explore ports and coves that larger vessels just cannot access. We are intent on innovating and raising the game in the ultra-luxury cruise sector and are doing this by refining the onboard experience and delivering exciting new destinations. There is no limit to our ambition, which is what our discerning guests expect.”

Other exciting adventure equipment housed onboard will be a pair of helicopters and a fleet of Zodiacs. The Scenic Eclipse II experience is all-inclusive, thanks to complimentary airport transfers, fine dining, premium beverages, gratuities and shore excursions.
