Everything We Know About Windstar's First-Ever ‘Mystery Cruise’

Windstar Cruises just announced it will be offering a special “mystery cruise” next year. The eight-night cruise will take place April 19, 2025, onboard Star Legend, and will run roundtrip out of Athens. While travel advisors will be able to sell cabins on the cruise, the specific itinerary will not be announced ahead of the sailing.

“It’s awakening the sense of adventure,” said Chris Prelog, president of Windstar Cruises. “We’ve become so dependent on information always at our fingertips, that it’s nice to still be surprised, but to know that you will be taken care of by Windstar every step of the way.”

It’s a way to get more exploration into an itinerary. It’s for those who like to be surprised and delighted by travel.

This type of cruise is a first for Windstar, and executives say the unique itinerary is designed for passengers who are excited by discovering new destinations, and who enjoy the Windstar onboard experience.

“It’s for people who care less about the ‘where’ and more about the ‘how,’” said Janet Bava, chief commercial officer for Windstar.

According to Bava, the itinerary will include ports that are totally new to Windstar, and it will be preceded by a Star Collector cruise that will include an excursion to Ephesus in Turkey.

Bava also says suites on the itinerary are already selling fast.

“It’s a way to get more exploration into an itinerary,” Prelog said. “It’s for those who like to be surprised and delighted by travel.”
