Get Your Ears On With Mickey and Minnie at Disneyland

As Walt Disney famously said: “It all started with a mouse.”

He probably never imagined that mouse — not to mention, his sweetheart — would become an international superstar. But 90 years later, Disneyland Resort is throwing a party fit for the superstar duo: Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration.

“Starting in January, guests will be invited to the biggest celebration of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in Disneyland history,” said Michael Ramirez, editorial content director for Disneyland Resort. “Get Your Ears On will celebrate the beloved Mickey and Minnie with exciting new entertainment and decor at Disneyland park.”

Mickey’s Mix Magic will feature all-new music, projections and lasers that will set the scene for an epic dance party that takes over the entire park.

The momentous occasion will be marked with a new nighttime projection show; the return of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade, a fan favorite; and special food, beverage and merchandise themed to the iconic mice.

Beginning Jan. 18, the new “Mickey’s Mix Magic” show will turn the entire Disneyland park into a fun-filled dance party, with projections and lasers lighting up the storefronts of Main Street, U.S.A.; the water screens of the Rivers of America; and the facade of It’s a Small World.” Plus, DJ Mickey will spin everyone’s favorite Disney songs, along with brand-new song “It’s a Good Time.” On select nights, “Mickey’s Mix Magic” will take the party into the skies with the addition of fireworks.

On Jan. 25, Mickey’s Soundsational Parade returns to Disneyland with a new opening inspired by classic Mickey toys. Also joining the fun-filled processional are favorite Disney characters, high-spirited performers and live musicians.

“We are so delighted that Mickey’s Soundsational Parade is making a triumphant return to Disneyland park,” said Steven Davison, executive creative director of parades and spectaculars for Disney Parks Live Entertainment. “We can’t wait for guests to see the new way we’re going to rock the opening of this parade, starting with the ‘leader of the club’ himself, Mickey Mouse, followed by Chip and Dale with a larger-than-life celebration cake. These colorful new floats kick off the parade with a really infectious new energy."

From Jan. 22 to Feb. 18, in honor of Mickey and Minnie’s love story, Disneyland will celebrate Valentine’s Day 2019 with Valentine’s decor all along Main Street, U.S.A. and Small World Mall. Plus, parkgoers can take part in Minnie’s Valentine Surprise, a hunt for valentines that Minnie has hidden all around the park for Mickey. Guests who purchase the commemorative map and stickers will get a surprise when they complete the hunt.

It wouldn’t be a party without treats — and Get Your Ears On has plenty of them. Specially themed food, beverage and merchandise will include classic Mickey- and Minnie-shaped foods; exclusive treats; new, exclusive Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse popcorn buckets; and of course, Mickey and Minnie ears.

In addition to Get Your Ears On, the new year will also see Mickey and Minnie celebrations at Disney parks around the world, as well as onboard Disney Cruise Line sailings, making Mickey and Minnie’s 90th birthday the “World’s Biggest Mouse Party.”
