Devoted Harry Potter fans may first recognize the title Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as a textbook written by wizard Newt Scamander and studied by Hogwarts students in the popular “Harry Potter” book and film series. But the textbook — which details “magizoology,” the study of magical creatures — has since evolved into a cinematic masterpiece in its own right, thanks to the 2016 big-screen debut of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
However, the magic need not end there. At Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood in Hollywood, Calif., young clients can now see props and costumes from both “Fantastic Beasts” and the “Harry Potter” films up close. In addition to the actual costumes of Scamander and other characters, including the endearing “No-Maj” (Muggle) Jacob Kowalski and witchy sisters Tina and Queenie Goldstein, the updated exhibit also features some of Kowalski’s imaginative baked goods and other recognizable items from the film’s 1926 New York setting.
Visitors will still find displays of the Harry Potter films, as well, such as concept art, wardrobe and more. There’s even a chance to get sorted into one of Hogwart’s four houses — Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin — by the enchanted Hogwarts Sorting Hat.
The exhibit is part of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, and tickets are $65 for adults and $55 for children (ages 8 and up). Deluxe tours are also available.
