There are many reasons to travel with Adventures by Disney (ABD), including the high level of service and variety of international itineraries. But many clients also choose to travel with the tour operator because of its adept storytelling. And, in 2027, new and enhanced itineraries will highlight beloved Disney stories in new ways, with additions to the popular Rhine River Cruise itinerary and an all-new Munich Escape.

Here are a few details to note about the new offerings.

Munich Escape

In 2023, my sons and I embarked on a Danube River Cruise with Adventures by Disney and AmaWaterways. When our cruise ended in Munich, we stayed one extra night in the city before flying home. Just before heading to the airport, we saw another family from our cruise. We learned that they weren’t going home, but were instead taking a day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle, the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland. A sense of regret immediately descended on us. We were so close to an iconic Disney connection, and we missed out.

In 2026, clients can only visit the castle on the eight-day Germany Land Adventure, but in 2027, the new three-day Munich Escape — bookable as a stand-alone land itinerary or as a Danube River cruise extension — includes the chance to tour the inspiration for the fairytale castle at Disneyland, which, according to Beci Mahnken, president and CEO of Mouse Fan Travel, is widely believed to have influenced the design of Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World as well.

“For many guests, this isn’t just a scenic stop — it’s a deeply emotional one,” Mahnken said. “Neuschwanstein represents the real-world origins of Disney storytelling, and standing in front of it feels like stepping into the source material of the fairy tales that defined their childhood. That connection is especially meaningful for Disney fans, who see the castle not only as a historic site, but as a tangible link between European history and Disney magic.”

The new Munich Escape will also offer clients the opportunity to create their own traditional German treats in a hands-on workshop, as well as the chance to toast to their adventure at a centuries-old brewery.

“The announcement of a new Adventures by Disney Escape that will include a visit to Neuschwanstein has only heightened interest," Mahnken said. "Adventures by Disney tells the story of the castle with the right mix of wonder and context, while removing the stress of logistics. For many, Neuschwanstein is the must-see moment that turns interest into a booking.”

Enhanced Rhine River Cruise Itinerary

Adventures by Disney’s updated 2027 Rhine River cruise itinerary will also sprinkle new pixie dust on travelers, including a visit to Eguisheim, a charming French town in Alsace that was an inspiration for Belle’s village in “Beauty and the Beast.” Among highlights is a chance to see the Saint-Leon fountain in the town’s castle square, which is depicted in both the original animated movie and the live-action remake. And while the 2017 movie starring Emma Watson was filmed on a soundstage, the “Pigeonair" monument in Eguisheim served as the model for Belle's house.

In true Adventures by Disney style, the storytelling continues in the evening, with a Beauty and the Beast-inspired dinner menu served onboard the river cruise ship.

Eguisheim’s Saint-Leon fountain was depicted in the 1991 animated “Beauty and the Beast” and the 2017 live-action remake.

Also new to the Rhine itinerary in 2027 will be an optional full-day excursion to Lucerne, including a bike ride to the fortified town of Neuf-Brisach, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In Amsterdam, clients can take a scenic cruise and/or visit Zaanse Schans, a preserved Dutch village where Junior Adventurers can decorate their own wooden clogs. Both excursions will be offered in the morning and the afternoon, providing clients with the flexibility to explore the city at their own pace.

Bookings for 2027 Adventures by Disney trips will open to clients who have previously traveled with ABD on Jan. 9, 2026. Clients who are members of Disney Vacation Club (DVC) or other affiliated groups can book beginning Jan. 12, 2026; bookings will open to the public on Jan. 13, 2026.
