Legoland Florida Resort and Legoland California Resort have announced a $90 million expansion plan that will add the space-themed Lego Galaxy land to both theme parks.
Lego Galaxy, which is set to open in California and Florida in 2026, will be home to Galacticoaster, an indoor space-themed ride for families. This will be the first new roller coaster at Legoland California in 20 years and the first new roller coaster at Legoland Florida in 15 years. Galacticoaster will take riders on an “immersive mission” in space, according to the resorts.
The all-new indoor family space-themed roller coaster will open at Legoland Florida Resort on February 27, 2026, and at Legoland California Resort on March 6, 2026.
“Lego Galaxy represents a bold new chapter for Legoland California Resort, one that pushes the boundaries of creativity and imagination for families,” said Julie Estrada, communications director for the resorts. “This expansion is designed to inspire the next generation of builders, dreamers and adventurers to reach for the stars.”
To engage young space explorers in this new launch, Legoland Resorts has begun a nationwide search for Junior Galaxy Explorers. Children ages 6 to 12 can submit their own creative Lego builds — spacecrafts, of course — for a chance to be the first to ride the Galacticoaster next year. More information on how to enter the search is available online, and the submission deadline is Dec. 31.
