Boosting its offerings in the Maldives, Four Seasons has
announced its luxury resort at Kuda Huraa has reopened, featuring a
traditional Maldivian village, and its Landaa Giraavaru resort in
the Baa Atoll will open in November.
The openings mark the return of 200 local staff who had been
working at other Four Seasons properties after Kuda Huraa in the
North Male Atoll was forced to close following the tsunami.
A 25-minute speedboat ride from Male, the Kuda Huraa has been
extensively renovated and includes 96 beach and water bungalows
constructed of timber and thatch with modern tropical
furnishings.
Inspired by Maldivian architecture and culture, the resort and
its bungalows feature traditional decorative lattice panels, curved
roof forms and stone walls. The new beach bungalows have raised
floor levels to increase the ocean views and feature individual
plunge pools.
The resort also features a dedicated Surf School, the only one
of its kind in the Maldives, that runs certified courses for
beginners, surf clinics and escorted surf excursions for
experienced surfers.
Meanwhile, set to open Nov. 1, is the 102-villa resort on Landaa
Giraavaru in Baa Atoll, north of Male. Designed to embrace the
region’s wilderness seclusion, each villa includes a land-based
pavilion with private beach access and living and dining area. It
is linked to the sea-based sleeping pavilion with bedroom, bathroom
and outdoor shower by a wooden walkway that leads past a plunge
pool.
A first for Four Seasons, the resort’s Ayurvedic Retreat is
designed for guests to experience the holistic approach of
Ayurveda, the ancient Indian “science of life.” Guests are invited
to learn about medicinal herbs, trees and flowers that provide the
base of oils and treatments used in the Ayurvedic process.
The resort’s Blu restaurant offers lagoon views, and the Al
Barakat rooftop restaurant offers authentic Lebanese and Moroccan
cuisine.
Four Seasons is offering a special “Stay Longer and Receive the
Fourth Night Free” offer Sept. 15-Nov. 30 at the Kuda Huraa and
from Nov. 1-30 at Landaa Giraavaru.
