Me Time For Parents

Jun 29, 2009

When it comes to vacationing with children, every parent deserves a little time off. These resorts’ activity-packed kids’ clubs really pile on the fun and give parents a few moments on their own.

Club Med
Club Med’s kids clubs really bring kids and families together with a variety of programs for every age level that keep kids entertained while parents enjoy some alone time and also bring families together with evening and afternoon activities. Babies and infants are pampered at Baby Club Med, which provides babies with a structured, age-appropriate and well-supervised area in which they can learn and grow. One of the coolest perks for kids at Mini Club Med is the Petit Chef Program, where children spend time in a kitchen created just for them, learning the ins and outs of cooking and nutrition. Teens and tweens have their own hangouts, which offer opportunities to participate in sports, art, theater, film and more.

Beaches
Well known for its affiliation with Sesame Street, Beaches has added even more fun recently partnering with Xbox 360 to offer the Xbox 360 Game Garage and with Crayola to create the Crayola Art Camps. Kids will also find swim-up soda bars, treasure hunts waterslides, toddler pools, themed restaurants and discos just for them.
Parents can get some alone time with supervised kids clubs, a nursery and certified nannies to look after their youngsters.

Disney Cruise Line
It may seem that Disney Cruise Line is one big kids club, but from the Disney Oceaneer Club to Ocean Quest, kids won’t just be running amuck from one deck to the next while their parents enjoy a spa day. Parents can entrust their young ones to Disney’s Oceaneer Club where children participate in organized activities and programs run by trained counselors. Assisted by counselors, the Oceaneer Lab allows older kids ages 8-12 to use their imaginations more independently and explore a variety of state-of-the-art computer programs and other activities. Parents can keep track of their whereabouts with pagers, provided by the ship. Other hangouts for kids include Ocean Quest, Aloft, The Stack, Studio at Sea and more.

Paradisus
Kids from 6 months old to 12 years old are pampered at by Paradisus, offering lots of personal services for families. The Kids Club and Club 4 provide age-appropriate programs, including classes, sports, movies and a mini-disco. In addition to the kids club and where Paradisus really shines is its Family Concierge program, which provides families with children with private check-in, a beach kit, a family concierge, walkie-talkies and more.
