For the first time in 20 years, a new hotel will open at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. Construction on a 700-room property at the west end of the Downtown Disney District will begin in 2018 for a projected grand opening in 2021.
With a sophisticated design, Disney’s fourth on-site hotel will anchor a new gateway to Disneyland Resort. Several current Downtown Disney venues — including ESPN Zone, Rain Forest Cafe and the AMC theater — will be removed to make way for the hotel. The property will utilize the Disneyland Monorail, with a dedicated platform that will provide guests with direct transportation into the heart of Disneyland.
Plans for the ground level include new dining and entertainment venues, a plaza with water features and landscaped walkways connecting all four Disneyland Resort hotels. Guestrooms and public spaces will overlook Downtown Disney, and an upper-level restaurant and lounge will give guests a bird’s-eye view of Disneyland’s fireworks shows.
