With 7,000 square feet, a new $2.5 million five-bedroom
Presidential Suite recently completed at the InterContinental Hong
Kong has become the largest in Hong Kong.
Nearly a year under construction, the suite has a duplex living
room with 2-story plate-glass windows showcasing the hotel’s
panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island. Most
spectacular is the suite’s 2,500-square-foot wrap-around terrace
with a rooftop infinity swimming pool and Jacuzzi overlooking the
harbor.
The dining room, master bedroom, bathroom and private gym also have
panoramic harbor views and the suite also has a private study and
kitchenette. Dining areas in the suite can accommodate up to 36 for
seated dinners and 60 for cocktails.
“We truly feel that we have created a one-of-kind suite which
showcases our hotel’s unique assets, our wonderful location and
fantastic view,” said Jean-Jacques Reibel, InterContinental Hong
Kong’s managing director. “We have clients who demand this type of
suite, with the extraordinary range of facilities and services it
offers.”
Of course, it comes with a price: The Presidential Suite costs
about $11,183 per night, inclusive of 24-hour personal butler
service, roundtrip airport limousine service by guests’ choice of
Phantom VI Rolls Royce, Bentley or Mercedes limousine, plus access
to Club InterContinental (Executive Lounge), wireless high speed
broadband internet access and personalized concierge services.
The suite is the crowning jewel of the hotel’s more than $40
million in enhancements since its re-branding in June 2001 as the
Asia-Pacific flagship for InterContinental Hotels &
Resorts.
Renovations have included the addition of two new specialty suites
(the CEO Suite and Terrace Suite, both with large outdoor terraces
and Jacuzzis overlooking Victoria Harbour), a state-of-the art Club
InterContinental (Executive Lounge), a feng shui inspired I-Spa and
Fitness Centre, improved guestrooms and InterContinental
Ballroom.
