Trump Hotel Collection has announced plans to build its first property in Asia. The new oceanfront resort will be located on the southwestern coast of Bali.
A combination of both luxury resort and residential development, the project is a partnership between Trump Hotel Collection and MNC Group, a large Indonesian investment group.
Dan Wakeling, senior vice president of global hotel development and acquisitions for Trump Hotel Collection, says construction on the resort should begin within a year, and developers hope to welcome the first guests in 2018.
“The property will be an ultra-luxury low-rise resort with a mixture of villas and suites to maximize the fantastic views of the ocean,” he said. “Amenities are likely to include a cliff-top pool and beach club, a luxurious spa, a ballroom, meeting rooms and a range of food and beverage outlets in keeping with the ultra-luxury positioning of the resort.”
The property will be situated on a cliff-top location, and in addition to ocean views, it will also feature vistas of Tanah Lot, a rock formation that is one of Bali’s most popular cultural tourism attractions and home to an ancient temple.
“This will be a resort destination where our guests can unwind and relax in the lap of luxury and also enjoy a very authentic experience with the local culture,” Wakeling said. “As with all Trump hotels and resorts, we believe in creating a unique product offering that is sensitive to the surrounding area and culture to create a sense of place and be authentic.”
Trump Hotel Collection now consists of 14 properties, with another four planned to open in Washington, D.C.; Rio de Janeiro; Vancouver, British Columbia; and Baku, Azerbaijan, in 2016.
