Signature Travel Network held its Annual Owners Meeting at the historic Arizona Biltmore Hotel & Spa, with more than 90 percent of Signature’s owners in attendance at the four-day conference. President Michelle Morgan and her staff reviewed the prior year and unveiled a range of new programs and products for 2010, including a new online training system, enhanced cruise benefits for clients, an expanded portfolio of resorts and an aggressive multimedia marketing campaign.
Qantas Appoints Garnett
Qantas Airways recently selected Rohan Garnett to fill the position of vice president of leisure sales for North America. In his new role, Garnett will manage group sales and business development initiatives aimed at generating passenger revenue through various strategic promotions, programs and relations. He will also be responsible for assisting with the overall commercial development of the region.
“Rohan’s demonstrated leadership, strategic capabilities and proven track record position him to make significant contributions to the success of Qantas’ leisure sales unit in one of the most important travel markets in the world,” said Wally R. Mariani, A.M., senior executive vice president of the Americas and the Pacific.
Hod Joins Israel’s Government Tourist Office
Eliezer Hod, one of Israel’s most experienced tourism professionals, has accepted the position of director of the Israel Government Tourist Office (IGTO). Previously, Hod was based at the headquarters of the Ministry in Jerusalem as director of product development; this is his fourth overseas appointment.
“I am delighted to welcome Eliezer back to the U.S., and I know he will do a super job in this vital region of the country,” said Arie Sommer, Israel tourism commissioner, North America.
Hod has received multiple awards in Israel, and internationally, in the field of tourism and is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Hebrew.
