SPEAKING OUT
In celebration of World Tourism Day, Ray Snisky, president of
Funjet Vacations, delivered a speech at the Ritz-Carlton, Cancun,
about the importance of tourism to Mexico’s economy. Speaking to a
distinguished audience including President Vincente Fox, he
outlined a long-term plan to ameliorate the health and welfare of
Mexico residents. Snisky was the only vacation company executive
speaking at the Sept. 27 event.
Funjet has been one of the leading U.S.-based vacation companies
to Mexico since 1979.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO GALA
The Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Tourism hosted a gala cocktail
reception at the Hilton Hotel and Conference Center on Sept. 29,
commemorating the historic visit of Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace,
secretary general of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation to
Trinidad. The Ministry also honoured the Trinidad and Tobago
National Culinary Team with gold medals at the “Taste of the
Caribbean” competition and presented awards to the winners of the
Customer Satisfaction Survey for all registered accommodation
properties in Trinidad and Tobago.

PRINCESS CROWNS NEW DIRECTOR
Princess Cruises recently named Richard “RJ” Forgham director of
channel sales, the company segment dealing with business-building
resources for home-based agents. He will also oversee innovation of
sales tools to supplement the line’s popular POLAR Online booking
engine and OneSource Academy training program. Jan Swartz, Princess
senior vice president of customer service and sales, said: “Now
with RJ’s appointment, we’ve dedicated a senior member of our team
to better understand the needs of the home-based agent, and to
focus on how we can further help build their business.”
Forgham has nearly 10 years of cruise industry experience,
including four years as Princess’ manager of electronic
distribution.

TIME FOR A CHANGE
