In recognition of the Lunar New Year, the San Diego Chapter of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (SanPATA) celebrated Asian Festivals & Food on Feb. 23 at Khan's Cavern & Grill in San Diego.
The seminar, which was jointly sponsored by SanPATA as well as the China National Tourist Office, Japan National Tourism Organization, Macau Government Tourist Office, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, welcomed nearly 60 travel agents from the greater San Diego area.
In addition to learning about upcoming major events and festivals in Asia-including the highly anticipated World Expo 2010 in Shanghai-agents also had the opportunity to participate in a mini trade show to meet with representatives from China Discovery Tours, GTS GloboTours, Pacific Delight Tours, Pan Pacific Journeys, Singapore Airlines and Viking River Cruises.
After the mini-trade show agents enjoyed a presentation on "Selling Asia's Food & Festivals," during a Chinese-themed dinner. After dinner a rousing rendition of "Travel Jeopardy," ensured that many travel agents went home with great supplier-donated prizes.
