Starting Dec. 17, US Airways Group Inc. will add direct flights between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to Montego Bay, Jamaica’s Sangster International Airport. The seasonal service will run through April 12, utilizing Airbus A319 aircraft with seating for 12 in first class and 112 in the main cabin. Montego Bay will be the first nonstop Caribbean destination from US Airways’ Phoenix hub.
“This service will open all of the major West Coast cities to vacationers who probably would not have considered Jamaica because of the lack of easy air access,” said Donnie Dawson, Jamaica Tourist Board deputy director of tourism for the Americas.
US Airways flight 1619 from Phoenix to Montego Bay will depart Friday through Monday at 10 a.m. The return flight, US Airways flight 1620, will fly four days per week, Thursday through Sunday, departing Montego Bay at 12:25 p.m.
Tickets for the Phoenix-Montego Bay flights are currently available, as well as US Airways Vacations hotel and/or vacation packages.
